Connected in The Word (“CiTW,” “we,” “us”) is a daily-verse ministry site. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible, and we never sell your data or share it with advertisers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Analytics (only after you consent). If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — pages viewed, general location, device type. No analytics load unless and until you click “Accept.”
- Email subscription. If you subscribe to the daily verse, we store the email address you provide so we can send it to you.
- Donations. If you give a gift, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; Stripe processes the payment and shares back only limited confirmation data.
- Anonymous site counters. We keep aggregate, non-identifying daily counts (for example, how many verses were shared or hearted). These are not tied to you.
Why we collect it
To deliver the daily verse to subscribers, to process donations that keep the site free, and — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Third parties & subprocessors
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the site. Each processes only the data needed for its function:
- Google Firebase / Firestore — stores daily verse content and subscriber data.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the site.
- MailerLite — sends the daily-verse emails to subscribers.
- Stripe — processes donations (live mode).
- Google Analytics — measures site usage, loaded only after you consent to cookies.
Cookies & your consent choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. Analytics cookies load only if you choose “Accept.” If you decline, no analytics are loaded. Your choice is stored locally in your browser.
You can change your decision at any time using the control (also linked in the site footer). If we make a material change to this policy, we may ask you to review your choice again.
Donations & nonprofit status
Connected in The Word is working toward nonprofit status. Until that status is granted, monetary gifts are not yet tax-deductible. Gifts help keep the site free and growing for believers everywhere.
Your rights & contact
You can ask us what data we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it — including unsubscribing from emails or having your subscriber record removed. To make any of these requests, email us at hello@connectedintheword.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we may prompt you to review your cookie choice again.
